Pittsburgh Steelers will be without the player for the remainder of the regular season.
Pittsburgh Steelers are battling the Baltimore Ravens for the AFC North lead. It has been an up-and-down season, but Aaron Rodgers’ experience keeps their playoff hopes alive. They started strong, but their defense has struggled in several crucial games, nearly missing the postseason altogether.
The Ravens have had a pretty rough season, with an unrecognizable Lamar Jackson, but they’re still close to the top of the standings. The Steelers are still on a winning streak, although their play hasn’t been particularly brilliant. Despite this, they’re 9-6 with two weeks left in the regular season and a chance to make the playoffs. They have two divisional games remaining, the last of which will be against Baltimore.
They’re coming off a dramatic and somewhat controversial 29-24 victory against the Detroit Lions, which left the Lions on the brink of elimination. Pittsburgh remains firmly in first place, thanks to the Ravens’ loss to the New England Patriots last Sunday night. However, it hasn’t all been positive, as they’ve lost one of their key players in the last two games.
Pittsburgh Steelers lose key player
The recent game against the Lions on the road was marred by a highly controversial incident. Wide receiver DK Metcalf punched a Detroit fan in the face. This incident was met with strong disapproval from the NFL, which has suspended the star player for two games, both crucial matches. Pittsburgh will play against the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens, but will be without Metcalf due to the suspension, a significant blow for Aaron Rodgers and the team.
The incident occurred at the end of the second quarter when Metcalf approached a section of the stands and began speaking with a fan wearing a blue wig. Metcalf punched the fan in the face with his right hand and walked away. According to the fan, identified as Ryan Kennedy, who spoke to the Detroit Free Press, he called Metcalf by his name: DeKaylin Zecharius Metcalf. The NFL took a firm stance on the receiver’s conduct and issued the decisive ruling.
