Dallas Cowboys could lose the player next season, and two teams are pursuing him.

Dallas Cowboys have had a very inconsistent season, although they still have playoff aspirations. Dak Prescott is playing at a very high level, and even the fans have started their MVP campaign. Despite having a solid offense, the defense has been unable to keep up. They have serious problems stopping opponents’ running games, ranking among the worst in the entire league.

However, this changed with the arrival of Quinnen Williams at the beginning of November. The former New York Jets defensive tackle has significantly raised the level of the defense, leading to positive results. They secured three consecutive victories against the Las Vegas Raiders (16-33), the Philadelphia Eagles (24-21), and the Kansas City Chiefs (31-28). This has allowed them to dream of the postseason.

However, everything is now in jeopardy after two consecutive losses: first against the Detroit Lions (44-30), and then against the Minnesota Vikings (26-34). Their playoff hopes are at risk, but that’s not all. Two NFL teams are vying for one of their star players for the upcoming season. They will have to fight tooth and nail to acquire the player, who has generated considerable interest.

Dallas Cowboys to Fight for Their Star

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs are very interested in wide receiver George Pickens. The talented former Pittsburgh Steelers receiver is reportedly the top target for both the Ravens and Chiefs, with Kansas City currently leading the race to acquire him. It’s clear they need a player of his caliber to return next year.

On the other hand, Dallas faces a challenge if they want to retain him. Pickens is one of the most intriguing free agents, and losing him would mean losing a key player for Dak Prescott. However, they could retain him under the franchise tag. This would give him a one-year, $28 million contract, after which they could negotiate a long-term deal. The Ravens could utilize their projected $40 million salary cap space for 2026, offering slightly more than the Cowboys.
