Matthew Stafford is having a sensational season and is vying for the MVP award.
Matthew Stafford is having one of the best seasons of his career. He’s a generational talent, no doubt about it, but since joining the Los Angeles Rams, he’s been in the spotlight even more. The Rams traded him for 2016 first-round draft pick Jared Goff. They sent their quarterback to the Detroit Lions for the experienced Matthew.
The former Georgia quarterback has dazzled everyone and led the Rams to a fantastic season. They are serious contenders, not only in their division but throughout the entire league. They are a very strong team, something they demonstrated last Sunday when they won the first divisional game against the Seattle Seahawks, another strong contender.
SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles witnessed another great game from the Rams. They prevailed 21-19 against Seattle. It was a close game, but it was once again a Stafford showcase. With this victory, they are settling into the top of the NFC West, with an 8-2 record in the 11 weeks so far. The Seahawks remain in contention at 7-3.
Matthew Stafford wants the MVP
It’s been a fantastic season for Matthew, showing he wants to win the MVP. The numbers back him up: through Week 11, he’s thrown 27 touchdown passes and only two interceptions. He also has 22 touchdown passes in his last seven games without a single interception. He leads the league in passing yards with 2,557 so far.
Despite these impressive numbers, the NFL is unpredictable, and the player with the most media attention often wins, not necessarily the best player. There are other strong contenders, like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, who hasn’t performed as expected. The biggest surprise is Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, another fantastic player who is giving Stafford a run for his money in the MVP race.
