Instead, the former New England Patriots quarterback has taken the reins. With Mac Jones at the helm, the 49ers have managed to win several games and are close to a playoff berth. With a 7-4 record, they are tied with the Seattle Seahawks, who are 7-3. The NFC West is currently led by the Los Angeles Rams, who have already defeated both teams, but the 49ers still have one divisional game remaining.

Jones still has one year left on his contract, but it seems he won’t see it through and will be looking for a change of scenery, an opportunity to become the undisputed starter for a team that desperately needs a leader at the helm.
Minnesota has struggled at quarterback. They’re losing patience with J.J. McCarthy, who hasn’t performed as expected. Carson Wentz was a temporary solution, though not the ideal choice. However, the former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback suffered a shoulder injury and required surgery, so it seems his career is nearing its end. This is Mac Jones’s chance to once again lead a team as a starter, since the 49ers will always have Brock Purdy as their first choice.
