Dallas bolsters its defense; the Cowboys aim for the postseason

Dallas Cowboys haven’t had a good season, especially on the defensive line.

Dallas began the season with high expectations and enthusiasm, as always. The Texas team was looking to return to the Super Bowl after nearly 30 years without appearing in the big game. The Cowboys have accumulated many disappointments in recent years. Dak Prescott hasn’t been able to justify his hefty salary.

However, this year the focus of their problems has been elsewhere: the defense. The Dallas defensive line has been a complete disaster, allowing limited teams like the New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, and Carolina Panthers to run right through them with relative ease. The offense was carrying the burden of winning, but it’s no longer enough.

Little by little, the attack of Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens is no longer performing. The recent loss to the Cardinals at home has taught them a valuable lesson: they need reinforcements. They’ve taken advantage of the league’s trade deadline and made a significant investment to try and address their defensive issues for the remainder of the season.

The Cowboys go all in

On the final day of the trade deadline, the Cowboys acquired the talented defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. The New York Jets traded one of their best players, a three-time Pro Bowl selection in the last three seasons. This move is clearly aimed at addressing their playoff hopes.

With a 3-5-1 record, Dallas is looking to improve on a challenging schedule. In the second half of the season, they will face the Las Vegas Raiders, then play a divisional game against the Philadelphia Eagles, followed by matches against the Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders, and finally, another divisional game against the New York Giants.
